GET OUT ON THE TRACK
The jewel of the weekend is the track event where owners will drive their cars around the track at speed, with passing in defined areas. Speed limits for each group are defined in the event rules.
Lake Garnett race track is a 2.8 mile road course that found stardom as a national landmark in the late 50’s to early 70’s whe the lake road became a ‘true road’ course for 9 sports car races held from 1959 to 1972. The track surface was completely redone in 2007. The track no longer hosts official races and is now one of the most famous ghost tracks in the midwest.
The track is part of Garnett’s North Lake Park which is visited by thousands of people each year who “cruise the lake” and spend time enjoying the park’s unique history and variety of amenities.
Once a year, we host the Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival to remember the history of the track and all the amazing races that were held there.
It's not a race, It's a Track Event! This is a Gentlemen's Event. Drivers participating in the track event will need to follow the rules. If a driver is found to be blatantly disregarding the rules, they will be pulled off the track.
